Manama:According to Bahrain News Agency, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has issued Decree (52) of 2026, appointing a new Deputy Ombudsman at the Ministry of Interior. This decision follows a recommendation by the Minister of Interior and the approval of the Cabinet.
Hamad Salman Saleh Taqi, currently the Director of the Correction and Detention Facilities Monitoring Directorate at the Ombuds Office within the Ministry of Interior, is appointed to the position of Deputy Ombudsman. He will hold the rank of Assistant Undersecretary and succeeds Ghada Hamid Habib Ahmed Hassan. His term is set for five years and may be renewed for additional terms.
The Minister of Interior is tasked with implementing the provisions of the decree, which is effective immediately upon its issuance. The decree will also be published in the Official Gazette.
