Manama:Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives, welcomed a delegation from the legislative councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The delegation visited Bahrain as part of a joint parliamentary visit exchange program.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Buainain emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination among the secretariats-general of the GCC legislative councils. He stated that this coordination is crucial for the development of the Gulf parliamentary system. Al Buainain highlighted the need to expand areas for exchanging expertise and knowledge to boost performance efficiency and strengthen the capabilities of parliamentary personnel across various sectors.
He further noted that the strong ties among GCC countries provide a solid foundation for institutional partnerships. These partnerships are vital for advancing cooperation through the exchange of successful experiences and the development of professional practices that enhance integration among bodies supporting joint legislative and parliamentary work.
Al Buainain reiterated the commitment of the General Secretariat, under the directives of Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, to share Bahrain's experiences with the GCC secretariats-general. He also emphasized the importance of benefiting from the specialized experiences of other legislative councils to develop performance and enhance Gulf institutional integration.
The Secretary-General underscored the significance of joint parliamentary visit exchange programs in fostering direct communication among secretariat-general personnel. These programs help familiarize personnel with specialized experiences and practices, benefiting from accumulated expertise in parliamentary work and digital transformation, thus supporting continuous development efforts and improving the quality of services that support legislative work.
