Manama: Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance (KHGC), has condemned the Iranian aggression against Bahrain, stating it constitutes a violation of international conventions and humanitarian principles. He emphasized that Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and guided by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, continues to uphold humanitarian values, peace, and coexistence on the global stage.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla highlighted the royal vision and initiatives that promote peace and international cooperation. On the International Day of Conscience, he remarked that global conscience faces a test due to Iranian attacks targeting Bahrain and other regional countries. These attacks, aimed at civilians and infrastructure, violate international conventions. He urged the international community to address these actions by implementing United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 to halt the attacks that jeopardize regional security and peace.
The chairman reiterated the efforts of His Majesty the King, which extend beyond humanitarian aid to call for international solidarity. He cited Bahrain's hosting of interfaith dialogues and initiatives to combat hate speech and racism, underscoring the royal approach that benefits humanity. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla noted that Bahrain's message on this international occasion is one of promoting peace and development based on conscience as a foundation for safe societies. He stressed the importance of dialogue and negotiation for resolving conflicts and respecting cultural diversity.
Dr. Shaikh Abdulla also emphasized the role of conscience, fraternity, and cooperation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through education and capacity-building. He acknowledged those with active consciences for their roles in preventing crises and contributing to a more peaceful world.
