Abu Dhabi:Khalid Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, participated in the 50th meeting of the Council of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities' Governors in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting emphasized the importance of cooperation and coordination among Arab central banks and monetary authorities amidst global and regional developments. Humaidan underscored the value of these joint meetings for promoting knowledge sharing and best practices to enhance financial stability and economic resilience in Arab countries.
During the event, Humaidan contributed to a session on "Strengthening the Framework for Financial Stability and Macroprudential Policy in Arab Countries," where he shared Bahrain's strategies in dealing with recent regional changes and fortifying the financial sector's resilience.
He also engaged in a high-level roundtable session titled "Macroeconomic Resilience Amid Geopolitical Turmoil," which assembled central bank governors to discuss responses and policies addressing recent regional and global developments.
The meeting further tackled crucial issues and priorities concerning monetary and financial stability in the Arab region, exploring ways to bolster financial stability, develop macroprudential policy frameworks, and enhance regional financial cooperation. Discussions also covered institutional and governance advancements, aimed at strengthening the resilience and integration of the Arab financial sector.
