Manama:Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, engaged with senior housing officials from Gulf Cooperation Council countries during the Innovation Summit in the Social Housing Sector 2026.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting included key figures such as Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health; Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning; and His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Southern Governor, along with other senior officials.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah conveyed greetings from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, expressing hopes for the conference's success. He highlighted the significance of strengthening Gulf cooperation in housing, aiming for integration in line with the GCC leaders' vision to foster sustainable housing communities.
He further emphasized that unified housing policies among GCC countries could support innovative urban development models that address development needs, enhancing family stability and wellbeing by expediting service provision.
Bahrain's hosting of the fourth GCC Housing Week alongside the second Innovation Summit presents a chance to bolster cooperation and share experiences among GCC countries. This includes reviewing the latest housing, financing, and real estate development practices, which supports joint Gulf housing efforts and initiatives to enhance the social housing sector with innovative solutions.
The GCC housing officials expressed their gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for sponsoring the conference and to Bahrain for organizing and supporting the event. They also thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for his attendance, underscoring the importance of ongoing cooperation to translate shared Gulf visions into practical steps for greater housing integration.
