Manama:The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf has launched an upgraded version of the minor settlement data update service, now fully digital and proactive. This initiative is part of broader government efforts to enhance service quality and streamline procedures.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the upgraded service, which is part of the Minor Affairs Sector, allows minors approaching the age of majority, or those managing their affairs, to update personal and contact details, bank account information, and property or vehicle details. This is a preparatory step for completing settlement procedures and receiving entitlements.
The digital upgrade has significantly reduced the service completion time from six working days to three, halved the number of required documents, decreased the service-level agreement by at least 25%, and enabled completely digital processing. Improvements include an enhanced user interface and experience, simplified procedures, a reduction in required approvals by 25%, and the conversion of application forms into electronic formats, while standardizing service information across all channels.
Noor Ibrahim Al Hajri, Head of the Minor Affairs and Funds Service Centre, stated that the upgrade aims to simplify procedures and improve efficiency by expanding proactive and electronic services, making transactions easier for beneficiaries. The service is accessible through Bahrain's National Portal, bahrain.bh, removing the need for in-person visits. Notifications are sent to relevant parties before a minor reaches the age of majority to facilitate early information updates and settlement preparation.
As part of the ongoing enhancement of public services and procedural re-engineering, the government has documented, translated, and published over 1,300 services, while 800 services have been developed and re-engineered across various sectors. These efforts incorporate feedback from the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), investor feedback, and mystery shopper evaluations to improve procedural efficiency and service quality, supporting the government's digital transformation initiatives.
