Justice Ministry Digitizes Minor Settlement Data Service

Accra:According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf has enhanced its minor settlement data update service by making it fully digital and proactive. This upgrade is part of broader government initiatives aimed at improving service quality and streamlining procedures.

The updated service, which falls under the Minor Affairs Sector, allows minors nearing the age of majority, or their guardians, to update personal details, bank information, and property or vehicle ownership records. This is in preparation for finalizing settlement procedures and receiving their entitlements.

Significant improvements have been made, including reducing the service completion time from six to three working days, halving the required documentation, and reducing the service-level agreement by at least 25%. The process is now 100% digital, with enhanced user interface and experience, simplified procedures, fewer required approvals, and standardized service information.

Noor Ibrahim Al Hajri, Head of the Minor Affairs and Funds Service Centre, mentioned that the goal of these upgrades is to simplify procedures and increase efficiency by expanding proactive and electronic services. The service is accessible via Bahrain's National Portal, bahrain.bh, eliminating the need for physical visits. Notifications are sent in advance to relevant parties before a minor reaches the age of majority to facilitate timely updates and preparations.

These enhancements are part of ongoing government efforts to improve public services, with over 1,300 services documented and 800 undergoing development and re-engineering. Feedback from the National Suggestions and Complaints System, investors, and mystery shopper reports has been utilized to guide these improvements, which include service guides and agreements to boost procedural efficiency and support the government's digital transformation.
