Justice Ministry Announces Ramadhan 1447 AH Programmes


Manama: The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf announced the launch of a package of religious and community programmes on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadhan 1447 AH, targeting various segments of society and contributing to raising religious awareness, promoting faith-based values, and consolidating the principles of social solidarity during the holy month.



According to Bahrain News Agency, Judge Shaikh Omar bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Assistant Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, emphasised that the ministry has prepared a range of programmes, including radio and television productions. A television programme titled “Layali Mudhee’a” will be presented by Dr. Mohammed Fouad Al Kuwari and Shaikh Abdulaziz Adel Al Maawdah. Two radio programmes will also be broadcast: “Bisharat Al Nabi ?”, presented by Shaikh Majid Al Balooshi, and “Qur’anan Arabiyan”, presented by Dr. Mahmood Adam, in coordination with the Ministry of Information.



Judge Shaikh Omar bin Duaij noted that the Zakat and Charity Fund has launched several charitable projects and initiatives, including “Ramadhan Basket”, “Food Vouchers”, “Water Provision”, and “Relief of Hardship”.



Informational platforms will also be set up throughout the holy month at the Ahmed Al Fateh Islamic Center, The Avenues Bahrain, City Centre Bahrain, and Marassi Galleria to introduce the fund’s charitable projects and encourage community participation in charitable and solidarity initiatives.



In the context of care for the Holy Quran, Judge Shaikh Omar bin Duaij said that the Directorate of Quran Affairs has launched several programmes, most notably “Iqra’hu fi Thalath”, implemented at male and female centres, during which the Holy Quran is completed over three consecutive days in preparation for the spiritual reception of Ramadhan. The directorate will also organise intensive Quran memorisation and revision courses during the holy month, as well as specialised sessions to correct recitation and Surah Al Fatiha after Asr and Taraweeh prayers to enhance accuracy in prayer performance.



In cooperation with the Sunni Endowments Directorate, the administration will also organise the “Taraweeh” programme by providing imams and students from Quran memorisation centres to lead Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers and complete the recitation of the Holy Quran in several mosques across the Kingdom, following their successful completion of admission tests and specialised imam training courses. In addition, a full Quran recitation programme will be implemented throughout Ramadhan by a selection of distinguished imams who are graduates and affiliates of memorisation centres.



Judge Shaikh Omar bin Duaij added that preparations are underway to hold the closing ceremony of the 30th Bahrain Holy Quran Grand Prize, with the participation of more than 5,000 male and female contestants. The Kingdom will also participate in several international Quran competitions and oversee several local Quran competitions.



Regarding the programmes of the Religious Affairs Directorate, Judge Shaikh Omar bin Duaij said that the directorate will continue to receive and respond to religious inquiries throughout the holy month. It will also present specialised radio and television programmes on the rulings and etiquette of Ramadhan, launch a package of preaching and guidance programmes in mosques, public gatherings, schools, reform and rehabilitation centres, and social care centres, implement a religious education programme for beneficiaries of alternative penalties, and supervise the organisation of Umrah trips throughout the holy month.
