Manama: Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, honoured Bahraini contestant Amat Al Rahman Badee' Mutahar Kulaib for winning second place in the women's category, and contestant Bader Saed Hamed for securing third place in the men's category, as part of the competitions of the 46th King Abdulaziz International Holy Quran Memorisation Competition, held in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the winners competed in the second category, which is dedicated to memorising the Holy Quran in full with proficiency and Tajweed, as well as interpreting the meanings of its vocabulary.
The minister congratulated the winners, their families, and the Holy Quran memorisation centres to which they belong on the achievement. He praised the efforts of the Ministry's Holy Quran Affairs Directorate in preparing participants for local and international Quranic competitions and developing their capabilities, thereby enhancing the Kingdom of Bahrain's presence in such events.
Minister Al Maawda affirmed the ministry's commitment to continuing its efforts to serve the Holy Quran, support programmes for its memorisation and recitation, and qualify Bahraini talents to participate in Quranic competitions, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
