Judicial and Legal Studies Institute holds regional webinar on International Humanitarian Law

Under the patronage of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister and Chairman of the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law, Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute (JLSI) held a regional webinar on the role of national judges in implementing the international humanitarian law.

The two-day webinar, which kicked off today, is within the framework of the JLSI’s cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICR) Kuwait Delegation and the Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS).

Vice President of the Supreme Judicial Council and President of the Court of Cassation, Chancellor Abdulla bin Hassan Al-Buainain, praised the webinar, describing it as an important platform for exchanging expertise in the field of International Humanitarian Law, which will enhance the role of national judges in implementing it.

Addressing the opening session, the Justice Minister highlighted the importance of the webinar’s theme, noting that it confirms the role of national courts in the application of the provisions of the International Humanitarian Law.
