Amman: Saleh Kharabsheh, the Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Khalil Abu-Rub, the General Manager of Harmony Investments Company (HINCO), to enhance collaboration in geological studies and mineral resource exploration.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Kharabsheh emphasized that the memorandum is an extension of ongoing geological survey efforts in Jordan. The initiative aims to develop a detailed mineral map using drone technology, a modern method used globally. The ministry is committed to obtaining reliable data to locate mineral resources and evaluate untapped reserves.
Hisham Zayoud, Director of the Geology and Mining Directorate, mentioned that the memorandum includes geological surveying and mineral exploration using the latest technologies. The focus is on developing strategies to optimize Jordan's utilization of natural resources. He explained that under a previous memorandum with the ministry, HINCO completed procedures for importing drones after obtaining necessary security and logistical approvals. This endeavor aims to improve planning and exploration operations by creating detailed geological maps that show mineral resource distribution, thus enhancing investment opportunities in the mining sector.
The earlier memorandum concentrated on preparatory actions for conducting aerial geological surveys using drones. This was part of a strategic framework to support the mining sector and provide precise data to aid investment decisions in natural resources.
