Jordan Welcomes Iran-Israel Ceasefire Agreement

Manama: Jordan today welcomed the announcement by His Excellency President Donald Trump of the United States of a ceasefire agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Israel, stressing the importance of this agreement in reducing the dangerous escalation witnessed in the region. Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Qudah, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, stated that the Kingdom affirms the necessity of adhering to the agreement to protect the region from further deterioration, and of adopting dialogue and diplomacy as a means to address all crises following international law and the United Nations Charter, according to the Jordan News Agency (Petra).

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Qudah emphasised that achieving a just solution to the Palestinian issue through the implementation of the two-state solution is the key to security, stability, and peace in the region. He also stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, an end to Israeli aggression and the resulting humanitarian catastrophe, and the launch of a genuine political process to achieve a just peace based on the two-state solution following international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
