Jordan Intercepts 108 Iranian Missiles and Drones in Recent Escalation

Amman: The Jordan Armed Forces have successfully intercepted and destroyed 108 Iranian missiles and drones aimed at the Kingdom's territory over the past week. This operation, conducted in collaboration with other countries, targeted 119 aerial threats, leading to 19 minor injuries from falling shrapnel.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the spokesperson for the Jordan Armed Forces, Brigadier General Mustafa Al Hiyari, reported that the intercepted threats comprised 60 missiles and 59 drones, which were directed at strategic sites in Jordan. However, 11 of these targets were not intercepted. Brigadier General Al Hiyari emphasized that Jordan will not become a battleground for external conflicts and dismissed allegations that the Kingdom served as a launch site for attacks on neighboring countries.

In response to the ongoing regional tensions between the United States and Iran, Jordan has heightened its military readiness. Brigadier General Al Hiyari stated that all military formations and border units are on high alert, and defense cooperation agreements have been activated to safeguard Jordan's airspace.

Public Security Directorate spokesperson Colonel Amer Al Sartawi mentioned that civil defense and police teams have addressed 187 incidents involving falling debris across multiple governorates. He reported that the incidents resulted in only material damages and advised the public to stay away from suspicious objects and seek information from official channels.
