A joint legislative-executive meeting was held today remotely via video conference.
The virtual session was attended by Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Parliament Minister Ghanim bin Fadhl Al Bouainain, Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani and Mps.
Addressing the virtual session, Council of Representatives Speaker Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal praised the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to harness all efforts to mitigate COVID-19 fallout, protect public health and support hardest-hit sectors.
She commended cooperation with the Government, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
She highlighted the measures which were announced during the Cabinet session, in cooperation with the Council of Representatives, to extend a number of initiatives in support of affected sectors.
During the meeting, the Government’s delegation outlined details of the extended initiatives as part of the financial and economic package.
