Jaafari Endowments Chairman Meets Organiser of Islamic Endowment Conference

Manama: Yusuf bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Jaafari Endowments Council, recently welcomed Professor Yusuf Abdulghaffar, Chairman of the Board of the Regional Network for Social Responsibility and head of the organising committee for the upcoming 2025 Conference on Innovation Strategies in Islamic Endowments and Sustainable Development.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was also attended by Abduljaleel Ibrahim Al Tarif, Deputy Chairman of the Jaafari Endowments Council; Mahmood Al Toblani, Chairman of the Technical, Investment and Tenders Committee; and Dr. Wissam Al Sabbagh, Head of the Mosques and Religious Guidance Section. During the discussion, Prof. Abdulghaffar shared insights into the preparations for the conference, which is scheduled to take place in May in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The event is being organised by the Global Centre for Sustainable Development and the Regional Network for Social Responsibility.

Al Saleh highlighted the council's dedication to fostering endowment partnerships as a strategy to promote sustainable development. He underscored the importance of utilising available resources and enhancing collaboration with civil society and the private sector by presenting investment opportunities that can drive economic and social progress.

Prof. Abdulghaffar stated that the conference will address several key topics, including innovation in endowment management, the impact of digital transformation and AI in the sector, global best practices in governance, and the contribution of endowments to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The event's programme will feature case studies that connect Islamic endowments with sustainability, smart Islamic endowment models, modern applications, Islamic bonds for financing development projects, and opportunities for public-private partnerships in green endowment initiatives. Additionally, an exhibition is planned to display services and solutions within the Islamic endowment sector.
