Iran Launches Retaliatory Strikes on US Bases in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait

Bahrain: The Iranian armed forces announced on Tuesday that they have executed missile and drone strikes on US bases located in Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait. This military action comes as a direct response to fresh US attacks on southern Iran, according to Xinhua.

According to Nam News Network, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement through its official outlet, Sepah News, confirming that the United States had conducted overnight airstrikes on coastal facilities and several military sites in southern Iran. The IRGC attributed these actions to Washington's perceived "defeat" in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday night.

In a detailed account, the IRGC accused the US military of attempting to escort vessels through an "illegal" route in the Strait of Hormuz. They reported that two supertankers, which allegedly turned off their navigation systems and ignored Iranian warnings, entered a mined route and were subsequently struck.

The IRGC claimed responsibility for targeting the US military's Juffair base and the US Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain. Key targets included weapons depots, fuel storage facilities, communications and radar systems, troop accommodations, and a command center for unmanned surface vessels.

In addition, the IRGC reported that ballistic missiles were launched at US positions in an air base located in Jordan, emphasizing that Iran holds no enmity towards Jordan or its citizens.

Iran's army also reported targeting a "hostile" US vessel with cruise missiles and launching drone strikes on US military facilities in Kuwait. These attacks were aimed at communications systems, fuel depots, Patriot air defense systems, air traffic control facilities, and an ammunition depot, allegedly in retaliation for attacks on Iranian military sites and sustained US aggression.

Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed via a post on X that its forces had completed a series of strikes against Iran at 10:15 pm ET on Monday (0215 GMT on Tuesday). The five-hour operation focused on military facilities in Bushehr, Chabahar, Jask, Konarak, Abu Musa, and Bandar Abbas, with the objective of impairing Iran's capability to attack commercial shipping.

Following joint strikes by Israel and the US on Iranian territory, Iran had imposed restrictions on shipping through the Strait of Hormuz as of February 28, prohibiting vessels linked to the two nations.

This latest escalation follows days of hostilities between Iran and the US, despite the peace memorandum signed on June 18, which outlined a framework for the commencement of negotiations within 60 days towards a final agreement.

US media outlets reported on Monday that President Donald Trump had officially informed Congress of the resumption of US military operations against Iran.
