IPU Secretary-General praises Bahrain’s parliament experience, lauds HM King’s role in boosting security, stability

Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Secretary-General Martin Chungong has commended Bahrain for its numerous achievements in parliamentary action thanks to the attention and patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa who established robust foundations to make popular participation the basis of governance.

Chungong praised Bahrain’s advanced status, thanks to HM the King’s support, in strengthening and empowering tools and mechanisms for parliamentary work to serve Bahrainis, which makes the Bahraini experience admired by everyone, particularly in its use of parliamentary diplomacy as a real channel of communication.

The IPU Secretary-General, during a meeting the Speaker of the Arab Parliamentary Adel bin Abdulrahman Ak Assoomi, expressed his personal appreciation of the great endeavors of HM the King to uphold the values of tolerance, coexistence and equality among members of society and his efforts at all levels, including sustainable development, empowerment of women, and the establishment of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence.

Chungong praised Hm the King’s efforts in strengthening the value of tolerance, which had a great impact in assuming important regional roles to calm conflicts and communicate with all parties thanks to the wise policy and diplomacy pursued by HM the King to preserve security and stability in the region and his constant quest for harmony and cooperation to achieve the interests of peoples and protect their capabilities, which made Bahrain one of the pioneering countries at all levels.

Al Assoomi hailed HM the King’s efforts and interest in Arab issues and praised his comprehensive development process that strengthened the status of Bahrain at the Arab, regional and international levels.
