IPA Launches Third Cohort of Executive Government Communication Programme

Manama: Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration (IPA), affirmed that investing in national talent and developing its capabilities is essential to advancing government performance and fostering an institutional environment based on efficiency, innovation, and impact. She made the statement on the occasion of the launch of the third cohort of the Executive Government Communication Programme, attended by Ahmed Khalid Al Oraifi, Chief Executive Officer of the National Communication Centre (NCC).

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikha Rana highlighted the importance of the partnership between IPA and the NCC in leveraging their shared expertise and specialisations to develop qualified national talent in the communications sector. She noted that the continuation of the programme for a third cohort reflects the success of the partnership and the commitment to developing national capabilities and enhancing their readiness to meet the evolving requirements of government work.

Al Oraifi stated that developing government communication is an important avenue for enhancing government efficiency and the quality of its outputs by strengthening its ability to communicate and highlight national priorities and achievements in a manner that reflects the efforts made across various sectors as part of Bahrain's comprehensive development process.

He noted that the rapid development of the communications sector requires continued advancement of government communication practices, alongside the adoption of modern technologies and innovation to enhance the effectiveness, reach, and impact of government messages.

Al Oraifi affirmed that the future of government communication requires a more proactive, integrated, and impactful system capable of keeping pace with current developments and anticipating future needs. He stressed that achieving this vision depends on the capabilities of national talent, making specialised capacity-building and equipping national cadres with modern knowledge and tools an ongoing priority.

The Executive Government Communication Programme covers specialised areas including strategic planning, institutional digital reputation management, media management during crises, the use of artificial intelligence, international communications, as well as practical applications and projects.
