Manama: The Interior Ministry emphasised its commitment to prioritising the security and safety of citizens, enforcing the law on all, including foreign workers. The ministry stated that Bangladeshi workers have been statistically linked to a higher incidence of serious crimes and legal violations, which has raised public safety concerns within the community. According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministry highlighted recent incidents involving crimes and violations at sea, including a maritime accident that caused serious injuries to a citizen and left another missing, with search efforts ongoing. These events have intensified discussions about the role and integration of foreign workers within Bahraini society. The Interior Ministry emphasised that the increase in crimes committed by Bangladeshi workers has led to a general perception that they are unwelcome within Bahraini society. The ministry stressed that all workers in Bahrain must respect the law and adhere to Bahraini customs and traditions. Any vio lation, regardless of its nature or severity, will result in the offender being apprehended and deported in line with legal procedures. The ministry's statements underline a broader commitment to maintaining public safety and ensuring that all residents, regardless of nationality, abide by local laws.
