Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, met with Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior of the Sultanate of Oman, to discuss strengthening security cooperation between the two nations. Upon his arrival at the Police Fort, Minister Al Busaidi was welcomed by the Deputy Minister of Interior, the Chief of Public Security, and several senior officials from the Ministry of Interior, accompanied by a ceremonial salute from the Guard of Honour.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah highlighted that the visit is a testament to the enduring ties between Bahrain and Oman, nurtured by the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. The Interior Minister stressed the importance of continued cooperation to address accelerating security challenges, advocating for enhanced joint mechanisms and a fortified security partnership in line with the Security Cooperation Agreement between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Oman. He praised the high level of coordination in combating transnational organised crime.
The Omani Minister, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, lauded the historical relations between the two nations and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing cooperation across all sectors, particularly in security. He underscored the significance of mutual visits in bolstering security coordination, unifying positions, and tackling both current and future security challenges. He also noted the crucial need for collaborative efforts to counter various negative phenomena arising from different forms of crime.
During their discussions, the ministers reviewed several key security issues to strengthen cooperation and coordination, building on past achievements to enhance performance in response to rapid regional and international security developments. At the meeting's conclusion, the ministers exchanged commemorative gifts, with the Omani minister signing the visitors' book, expressing his satisfaction with the visit and discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of both nations and their citizens.
