Interior Minister Welcomes Arab Tourism Organisation President to Discuss Regional Tourism Development

Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received Dr. Bandar bin Fahd Al Fuhaid, President of the Arab Tourism Organisation. Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, was also present during the meeting.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Interior Minister praised the Arab Tourism Organisation's efforts in promoting tourism development throughout the Arab region, aligning with sustainable development initiatives. He also emphasized the Kingdom of Bahrain's readiness to host the upcoming Arab Tourism Security Forum, underscoring the significance of tourism security as a cornerstone for the region's economic growth.

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah highlighted the importance of Bahrain's security and stability as essential elements for advancing tourism and investment projects, in accordance with the Government's Action Plan and sustainable development goals. He credited these achievements to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continuous oversight of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The minister affirmed that Bahrain provides a safe and attractive environment for tourism, which significantly contributes to national economic growth. He noted that successful economic development is contingent on stability, reaffirming the Ministry of Interior's dedication to the national tourism strategy through the implementation of safety measures. These efforts aim to strengthen Bahrain's reputation as a secure and inviting destination for international visitors.

Additionally, the minister remarked on the importance of addressing evolving regional challenges through enhanced cooperation and coordination among Arab nations. The meeting explored ways to deepen collaboration and improve coordination based on a mutual commitment to advancing joint Arab action mechanisms. Discussions also included issues related to building collective Arab capacities to tackle emerging challenges.
