London: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, visited the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) in the United Kingdom, which is part of the broader Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC) Programme. The visit underscored the ongoing collaboration between Bahrain and the UK in areas of security and medical rehabilitation. According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister was accompanied by Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Ambassador of Bahrain to the UK, and Major General Adel Ameen, Assistant Undersecretary for Human Resources. Upon their arrival, they were received by Group Captain Claire Myhill KHDS RAF, Commanding Officer of DMRC, along with other officials. During the visit, the Commanding Officer highlighted the strong Bahrain-UK ties and the shared commitment to fostering cooperation between the two nations. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah emphasized the historical ties between Bahrain and the UK, pointing out the ongoing efforts to bolster security cooperation, exchange expertise, and share experiences to advance mutual interests. He underscored the Ministry of Interior's commitment to providing comprehensive services to its personnel, recognizing their contributions and dedication to national security and public safety. During his tour, the minister was briefed on the DMRC's advanced medical and rehabilitation resources and visited various sections of the centre, including the prosthetics department and technological research facilities. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah praised the centre's expertise, advanced capabilities, and adherence to internationally recognised medical and rehabilitation standards. He expressed his appreciation to the centre's management for their distinguished services and the importance of strengthening cooperation and sharing rehabilitation expertise.
