Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, is set to inaugurate the First International Conference on Alternative Sanctions next Tuesday. The event is organized by the Ministry of Interior.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the conference will convene a diverse group of speakers, experts, and specialists in restorative justice, criminal justice, and human rights from Bahrain and other countries. The goal is to engage decision-makers, practitioners, and researchers globally on the topics of inmate rehabilitation and reform.
The conference aims to support the Ministry's initiatives to advance modern criminal justice policies that align with humane justice principles and community security. It will include multiple panel discussions focused on the experiences with alternative sanctions, the mechanisms for their implementation, their role in rehabilitation, and strategies to promote community justice while sharing best practices in the field.
