Flood Death Toll Surges Past 150 in Central Nigeria

Mokwa: The death toll from floods that struck the town of Mokwa in central Nigeria earlier this week has risen to more than 150, according to a spokesperson for the Niger State Emergency Management Agency.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Ibrahim Hussaini, the agency's spokesperson, stated that the floods also displaced over 3,000 people and completely destroyed 265 homes. Two bridges were also swept away by the floodwaters.

The agency confirmed that search and rescue teams are continuing efforts to locate missing persons.
