Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, welcomed Ziad Mahmoud Hab Al Reeh, Minister of Interior of the State of Palestine, along with his delegation, at a meeting attended by senior officials at the Ministry of Interior.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Palestinian delegation was greeted with an official guard of honour upon their arrival. The reception was led by the Minister of Interior, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Interior, the Chief of Public Security, and other senior officials, underscoring the importance of the visit.
General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah expressed his appreciation for the visit, highlighting the strong ties between Bahrain and Palestine under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas. He reaffirmed Bahrain's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and efforts towards a just and peaceful resolution. Emphasizing regional security, he called for the protection of civilians, the release of hostages, and the de-escalation of violence.
The visit was also recognized as an opportunity to enhance security cooperation against regional challenges. In response, Minister Hab Al Reeh conveyed President Mahmoud Abbas's greetings to the Bahraini leadership and praised Bahrain's supportive stance on the Palestinian issue. He emphasized the visit's role in advancing bilateral relations, particularly in security matters.
During the meeting, discussions focused on key security issues and strategies to boost coordination and joint initiatives. Both parties agreed to refine cooperation mechanisms to address emerging security concerns effectively.
Minister Hab Al Reeh's visit began yesterday with his arrival at Bahrain International Airport, where he was received by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and other ministry officials.
