EWB to Host 3rd Asian Youth Games Opening Ceremony

Manama: Bahrain is gearing up to host the 3rd Asian Youth Games (AYG), scheduled to take place from October 22 to 31, 2025. This event is held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Executive Committee is working diligently to finalize preparations for the games. Ahmed Mohammed Abdulghaffar, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee, affirmed that all committees are actively collaborating to ensure a successful hosting. This will mark the first time Bahrain hosts the event, welcoming over 4,000 male and female athletes representing 45 National Olympic Committees.

Abdulghaffar revealed that the opening ceremony will occur at the Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) on October 22, 2025. The ceremony will be held indoors for the first time, diverging from the traditional outdoor settings of previous AYG, which were held in Singapore in 2009 and China in 2013. The ceremony will also feature a variety of performances, details of which will be announced later, and promises to be exceptional, showcasing a Bahraini flair to convey a message from the youth of Bahrain to their Asian counterparts.
