Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received retired Air Vice-Marshal Martin Sampson, Executive Director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies - Middle East (IISS-Middle East). General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah expressed his appreciation for the role of research institutions in advancing security strategies and informing policing policies to effectively address emerging challenges and developments in the security landscape.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister commended the IISS for its contributions to promoting global peace and for hosting strategic forums and international conferences, particularly the annual Manama Dialogue. This event serves as a prominent platform for exchanging perspectives on regional and global security issues. He highlighted the value of the Institute's specialised research in supporting decision-making and emphasised the importance of enhancing cooperation to advance shared goals and mutual interests.
The meeting also discussed means to strengthen collaboration, coordination, and the exchange of expertise between the two sides.
