Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Interior Minister, received Ambassador Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, the Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the United Nations Office in Geneva. During the meeting, the minister praised Bahrain's significant international achievements, especially in the realm of human rights and the projects under the National Human Rights Plan.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister emphasized Bahrain's dedication to fostering peaceful coexistence and bolstering regional peace and stability. This commitment is underscored by the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The minister also drew attention to the royal human rights initiatives, highlighting the accomplishments of the alternative sentencing project and the open prisons programme. He reiterated that the Interior Ministry is steadfast in its strategy of respecting human rights while ensuring security and general safety.
