Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, inaugurated the new Um Al Hassam Police Station as part of the Ministry's strategic initiative to transform police stations into comprehensive service centers. This move aims to enhance community partnership and adapt to technological advancements in security operations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the inauguration ceremony was attended by prominent officials including Lieutenant General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, Deputy Minister of Interior; Lieutenant General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, Chief of Police; and Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior. The newly designed station is equipped with modern security systems to facilitate efficient transactions and deliver high-quality services to citizens and residents.
Minister Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah expressed gratitude for the directives and support from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in modernizing the Ministry of Interior. He also acknowledged the role of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in promoting initiatives to improve readiness and develop both human and technical capabilities to maintain security and public order.
The minister emphasized the crucial role of security in fostering growth and protecting national achievements. He noted the importance of police directorates in building community partnerships and providing essential services. The capital stations, such as the Um Al Hassam Police Station, are pivotal in serving citizens, residents, and various institutions, ensuring efficient operations.
During the visit, the minister was briefed on the station's advanced security services. In 2025, the station managed 5,089 reports and introduced a self-service system for electronic service completion. This supports the efficiency and expansion of smart services, alongside a fleet of smart security patrols equipped with advanced technologies to ensure rapid response and immediate handling of incidents, thereby enhancing readiness and response capability.
General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah inspected the station's facilities, including the vehicle area, and reviewed operational systems and procedures. He stressed the importance of continued commitment, rapid response, and effort to ensure the security and public safety of all citizens and residents.
