Manama: Al Mabarrah Al Khalifia Foundation (MKF) announced the opening of registration for its "Rayaat" Scholarship Programme for the 2026 - 2027 academic year. Applications will be accepted over ten days from March 29 to April 7.

According to Bahrain News Agency, this initiative reflects the Foundation's commitment to advancing higher education in Bahrain and empowering national talent to pursue academic excellence at leading institutions. This year's programme is offering undergraduate scholarships in partnership with the University of Bahrain and Bahrain Polytechnic, as well as scholarships under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. These scholarships are available at the British University of Bahrain, Ahlia University, Bangor University, and the University of London at the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), University of Technology Bahrain (UTB), Euro University of Bahrain, and American University of Bahrain.

The programme also includes Her Highness Shaikha Moza Bint Hamad Al Khalifa Fund, which will provide medical scholarship opportunities to RCSI - Bahrain. Applicants to the private universities mentioned are required to attach an acceptance letter to the application form.

Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of MKF, highlighted the growing interest among Bahraini youth in university education, reflecting a strong understanding of how knowledge can shape personal goals and national development. She noted that the programme's graduates have excelled in various professional fields, taking positions in leading public and private institutions. Their success underscores the programme's quality and its role in developing skilled leaders for the Kingdom.

HH Shaikha Zain bint Khalid also expressed her aim to expand the Foundation's partnerships to reach more beneficiaries and increase investment in education. She reiterated the Foundation's commitment to providing students with access to academic and personal development opportunities that prepare them to contribute to society. Her Highness thanked the Foundation's university partners for their support and encouraged institutions and companies to invest in Bahrain's future generations.

Prospective applicants are invited to complete the registration form through the Foundation's official website. Selection will be based on academic achievement and performance in a structured assessment process, including excellence in a written examination, completion of a personal interview, and demonstration of accomplishments such as volunteer engagement and community service.

Launched in 2011, the Rayaat Scholarship Programme was established to deliver a comprehensive educational pathway that equips students with competencies for an evolving labour market. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded 491 scholarships and will welcome its sixteenth cohort of scholars this year.

In addition to facilitating enrollment at accredited universities within Bahrain, the programme offers complementary benefits, including financial incentives and training opportunities across public and private sectors. Scholars also gain access to workshops designed to cultivate life skills, reinforce self-confidence, and support their transition into academic and professional environments.

The initiative aligns with the Foundation's vision of nurturing a generation grounded in knowledge, guided by responsibility, and equipped to address challenges, contributing to a brighter future.

Al Mabarrah Al Khalifia Foundation was established in 2011 as a non-profit organisation registered and licensed by the Ministry of Social Development in Bahrain. The Foundation aims to create a positive social impact in education and empower local talent to reach their potential through learning opportunities that benefit both the individual and the nation.
