Interior Minister Engages Religious Leaders to Foster Unity and Security

Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, held a significant meeting at the Police Officers Club with a group of sermon speakers (Khatibs) and religious figures. Accompanied by Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the meeting aimed to strengthen community partnership and communication with social groups, emphasizing the vital role of religious discourse in maintaining societal security and safety.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Interior Minister expressed his gratitude to the attendees for accepting the invitation, underscoring that the Kingdom of Bahrain's stability and security are attributed to the guidance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the diligent efforts of the government under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The meeting was highlighted as an embodiment of Bahrain's commitment to dialogue and national unity, stressing the importance of collaboration among citizens to promote social cohesion. The Minister acknowledged the crucial role sermon speakers play in delivering messages of unity and promoting Islamic teachings and community values. He praised their mission in educating the youth and reinforcing religious principles amidst global societal challenges.

The Interior Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining the security and stability achieved in Bahrain, noting that sermon speakers have a duty to advise the public and encourage adherence to tolerant religious values. This support is vital for the protection of youth and future generations, upholding values rooted in Islamic teachings.

He further stated that the religious pulpit (Minbar) is a fundamental pillar of the rule of law and institutions, serving to enhance national unity by focusing on shared values and community awareness. He stressed that the sanctity of mosque pulpits must be preserved, ensuring they remain a source of guidance and counsel for public welfare. Any deviation from this role will not be tolerated. The pulpit is viewed as a unifying platform for Muslims, especially important in the face of societal challenges to religious foundations, necessitating reinforcement of its role in propagating Islamic teachings.

The sermon speakers conveyed their appreciation to the Interior Minister for the invitation, emphasizing the importance of fostering mutual respect and harmony within society.
