Interior Minister Engages in Talks with UK Home Office Official

Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Interior Minister, received Mark Challin, Deputy Director for International Strategy at the UK Home Office and Co-Chair of the Joint Security Working Group between the Interior Ministries of Bahrain and the United Kingdom. The meeting was also attended by Lieutenant-General Tariq Al Hassan, the Chief of Public Security, and Alastair Long, the British Ambassador to Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Interior Minister emphasized that the visit is a testament to the ongoing efforts to strengthen communication and exchange views between Bahrain and the United Kingdom. He highlighted the longstanding relations and strategic partnership between the two countries, stressing the importance of continuing cooperation and coordination to expand opportunities for joint work.

The discussions at the meeting centered around existing security cooperation and coordination. Both parties reviewed various areas where they could enhance the exchange of expertise to improve mechanisms for addressing security challenges. The dialogue underscored the commitment of both nations to work collaboratively on security issues and to build on their robust partnership.
