Interior Minister: 30% Decline in Crime Rate; Community Partnership Reinforces National Belonging

Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Follow-up on the National Plan to Promote National Belonging and Reinforce Citizenship Values, delivered a speech marking Community Partnership and National Belonging Day, observed annually on March 18. He emphasized the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in guiding the Kingdom of Bahrain towards security, stability, and prosperity, expressing pride in the strong morale of the Bahraini people.

According to Bahrain News Agency, General Shaikh Rashid highlighted the continuation of initiatives and policies through the reform project designed to address societal needs, grounded in social cohesion and a strong national spirit. This approach contributes to building a stable present and shaping a promising future through an ambitious political vision guiding the Kingdom's modern national development.

He described the royal vision as an extension of generations of sound leadership in a country known for tolerance and firmly rooted national principles, underpinned by a historical and civilisational legacy. The foundations are based on unity, cohesion, and solidarity, extending beyond adherence to traditions to encompass sincere national commitment rooted in love of the country, loyalty to the leadership, protection of the social fabric, and preservation of national achievements.

General Shaikh Rashid affirmed that under the government's approach, spearheaded by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, citizens remain the driving force behind achievements. This is within a framework of community partnership built on cooperation, belonging, and shared responsibility. He stated that community partnership is a tangible reality embedded in Bahrain's social culture, with serving the Kingdom being a shared objective and honour.

The Minister noted the strong public response to the national volunteering platform, with significant participation reflecting pride and demonstrating the ability of united societies to address challenges. He highlighted a 30% decline in the crime rate, expressing appreciation to Bahrain Police personnel and commending the role of community policing in strengthening public security. Additionally, he praised the 'Ma'an' (Together) programme team for raising awareness and preventing negative behaviours, including violence and addiction.
