Information Minister’s Visit Highlights Bahraini Journalism’s Role in National Development

Manama: Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, visited the Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) on the occasion of Bahraini Press Day, which is observed annually on May 7. This year, the event coincides with the 25th anniversary of the BJA's founding. Dr. Al Noaimi emphasized the importance of Bahraini journalism as a crucial element supporting the Kingdom of Bahrain's comprehensive development. He noted that its prominence is derived from the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the ongoing attention of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Noaimi highlighted that national journalism, under this high-level support, has become a credible platform that reflects Bahrain's achievements and rich cultural heritage. He expressed pride in the progress of Bahraini journalism and the significant advancements it has made. He noted that royal directives have consistently provided a roadmap for the national media sector's development. This support has enabled Bahraini journalism to fulfill its role in serving national interests and allowed journalists to operate within the framework of Bahrain's core values.

Dr. Al Noaimi commended the BJA's role in developing the national press landscape and supporting local professionals. He acknowledged the association's success in establishing itself as a pioneering professional institution with a strong local, regional, and international presence. He also praised the efforts of the association's president and board members and reiterated the ministry's commitment to enhancing its partnership with the BJA to support national journalism. This collaboration aims to advance the sector's ability to adapt to rapid technological changes and effectively raise public awareness. He wished the BJA and its members continued success.

Isa Al Shaiji, President of the BJA, emphasized that the ministry's ongoing support has significantly contributed to the association's goals and programs over the years. He reaffirmed the BJA's commitment to maintaining the distinguished status of Bahraini journalism and supporting the kingdom's development.
