Information Minister Hosts IOM Mission Chief to Discuss Migration and Human Trafficking Efforts

Manama: Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, recently met with Aishath Ihma Shareef, Chief of Mission of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) to Bahrain. The meeting focused on global issues, particularly migration and the fight against human trafficking, highlighting the role of the United Nations and its agencies in tackling these challenges.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Noaimi reiterated Bahrain's dedication, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to supporting international efforts against human trafficking and safeguarding the rights of expatriate workers. This commitment has positioned Bahrain favorably on international platforms, including maintaining its Tier 1 status in the US Department of State's Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report for seven consecutive years. This recognition among 188 countries demonstrates Bahrain's success in fostering a stable and advanced living and working environment.

Aishath Ihma Shareef, IOM Chief of Mission, praised Bahrain's initiatives in combating human trafficking and protecting expatriate workers. She emphasized the IOM's ongoing commitment to enhancing collaboration with Bahrain to achieve mutual goals in these critical areas.
