Manama: The Ministry of Industry and Commerce is participating in Arab Standardisation Day, observed annually on March 25. Arab Standardisation Day raises awareness of the importance of standardisation in supporting economic and social development and acknowledges the contributions of regional and international organisations and partners in this field.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Inspection and Metrology Directorate is working to develop standards that promote sustainability, resource efficiency, and consumer safety. It is also updating the national technical regulation for energy efficiency, covering products such as air conditioners, lighting, refrigerators, washing machines, and water heaters, in line with the National Energy Efficiency Plan.

Arab Standardisation Day 2025 is celebrated under the theme "Standardisation: A Bridge to Arab Economic Integration", highlighting the role of standards in driving economic development and integration by enabling individuals and institutions to implement effective practices to reduce waste, conserve resources, and safeguard the environment and consumer health and safety.
