Industry Ministry launches ‘Al-Tajer’ App to enhance public- private sectors’ partnership

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce announced the launch of the “Al-Tajer” app during a press conference at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) on Tuesday.

The app is the first-of-its-kind, offering eServices for entrepreneurs and is now available for download through the eGovernment Apps Store, bahrain.bh.

The announcement was made in cooperation with the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), the Social Insurance Organization (SIO), Electricity and Water Authority Affairs (EWA), the Tender Board, and the Labor Fund (Tamkeen), with senior officials representing these entities in attendance.

Speakers at the press conference affirmed that the launch of the app is a digital milestone that highlights the Kingdom’s advanced digital infrastructure and system readiness. In line with the objectives of the Telecommunications, ICT, and Digital Economy Sector Strategy (2022-2026), of providing electronic services that will incentivize commercial activities, attract investments, and support the national economy.

Al-Tajer reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to investing in smart and innovative solutions to improve the user experience with government services. The app will provide users with a range of eServices and transactions through a unified digital platform, including making payments, enquiring about application statuses, and search functions. The app also uniquely offers the option to purchase government services such as Commercial Registration (CR) renewals, work permits, and others bills, through a single transaction.

Different government entity systems have all been linked to achieve comprehensive integration required for the app. Access to all eServices has also been unified via the eKey, and payment solutions further developed to ensure the functionality of the unified payment feature.

Other features available on the app include CR services provided by the MoIC, SIO insurance contributions, LMRA monthly invoice payments, EWA bill payments, tendering services, and enterprise support services by Tamkeen.
