Manama: As part of its ongoing market inspection campaigns, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has ordered the administrative closure of a commercial outlet in the Capital Governorate after it was found to have breached consumer protection regulations and pricing requirements by increasing the prices of certain food products and committing a number of commercial violations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the violations included failing to display prices for a number of products and discrepancies between shelf prices and those charged at the point of sale for several items, in breach of the applicable laws and regulations.
The ministry affirmed that it will continue conducting inspection campaigns across markets and take the necessary legal action against any establishment found to be in violation of the relevant laws and regulations. The measures are aimed at protecting consumers' rights, maintaining market stability, and ensuring compliance with sound commercial practices.
The ministry urged consumers to report any violations or irregular commercial practices through its official communication channels, via WhatsApp on 17112225, or through the national suggestions and complaints system, Tawasul, in support of regulatory efforts and consumer protection.
