New york: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Th©r¨se Kayikwamba Wagner, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Francophonie of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), at the United Nations Headquarters on the sidelines of the UN Security Council sessions.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Foreign Minister congratulated his DRC counterpart on her country assuming the presidency of the Security Council for the current session, wishing the DRC success in its leadership. He emphasised the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation and coordination during the two nations' concurrent participation in the Council.
The two ministers reviewed the close relations and cooperation between their countries, discussing means to strengthen ties across various domains to serve mutual interests. They also addressed the latest regional developments, efforts to maintain security and stability in the Middle East, restoring freedom of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and other issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Jamal Fares Al Rowaiei, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York.
