Manama: Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, received Gerd Mller, Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), on the sidelines of the 6th World Entrepreneurs Investment Forum (WEIF 2026). The meeting reviewed the exchange of experiences and perspectives on the future of industry, policies supporting advanced and sustainable manufacturing, and initiatives to achieve industrial integration globally.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Fakhro affirmed Bahrain's keenness to expand cooperation with international organisations in the industrial sector, contributing to policy support, knowledge transfer, adoption of advanced technologies, and enhancing the Kingdom's position as a regional hub for high-value specialised industries. He also highlighted the important role of UNIDO in promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation as a key pillar for leading industrial growth in the future.
Mller expressed appreciation for Bahrain's efforts in hosting the forum, wishing the event success in achieving its objectives and for the Kingdom continued progress and sustainable development.
