Manama: Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, attended a luncheon organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain where he participated as a keynote speaker. Minister Fakhro highlighted the historical ties between Bahrain and the United States, emphasizing the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in commerce and industry, with the private sector as a key partner in advancing shared interests.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Stephen Bondy, Ambassador of the United States to Bahrain, commended the commitment to strengthening Bahrain-US trade relations under the Free Trade Agreement. He highlighted the partnership between the American Chamber of Commerce in the US, the American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain (AmCham), and the US Embassy in Bahrain in promoting private-sector trade to achieve the Comprehensive Agreement for Security Integration and Prosperity, deepen economic cooperation, and enhance trade opportunities.
Qays Al-Zu'bi, President of AmCham Bahrain, stated that the Chamber is honored to play its role as a key platform that brings together business owners, government representatives, and stakeholders from Bahrain and the United States. He added that the Chamber constantly seeks to strengthen bilateral trade relations, contributing to achieving common economic goals.
Al-Zu'bi further mentioned that the event reflects their commitment to supporting American companies in the Kingdom, facilitating the expansion of Bahraini companies in global markets. He expressed pride in deepening bonds of cooperation and strategic partnership between Bahrain and the US, delivering value to members and the business community.
Liz Clark, Director of Middle East Affairs at AmCham, expressed appreciation for the strategic partnership between Bahrain and the US, noting achievements over the past few years, and highlighting Bahrain's commitment to strengthening relations in defense and security, trade, and investment. Clark explained that this commitment is demonstrated by the signing of the Security Integration and Inclusive Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA) with the US, which strengthens bilateral relations, praising AmCham's role in supporting this partnership since the implementation of the Bahrain-US FTA in 2006, and noting the significant growth in trade between the two countries since then.
