Industry Minister Commends Bahrain’s Leap in UN eGovernment Rankings

Manama: Bahrain's Minister of Industry and Commerce, Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, has recognized the Information Systems Directorate team for their significant contributions to Bahrain's notable performance in the United Nations e-Government Report 2024. This achievement showcases the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Information and eGovernment Authority. According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister highlighted the pivotal role played by the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communications Technology, led by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, who also serves as the Interior Minister and Chairman of the committee. This leadership was instrumental in Bahrain's advancement to 18th place globally, marking a leap of 36 positions and achieving the highest index in the nation's history. Fakhro emphasized that this accomplishment mirrors the dedication of the Bahraini government and its agencies towards achieving superior rankings in the UN e-Government Report . This progress is in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and the Government Program (2023-2026), which focus on strategic planning and the digital transformation of government services and transactions. The minister reiterated the ministry's commitment to further enhancing Bahrain's global standing by adopting cutting-edge digital solutions and emerging technologies, thereby improving e-government services and ensuring continued success in international benchmarks.
