Manama: In light of current developments, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce confirmed the availability of essential food items in local markets and a sufficient and secure strategic stock to meet market needs, ensuring continuity of supply without affecting availability or price stability.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministry stated that, in cooperation with the private sector, represented by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), strategic stock quantities of essential food commodities have been increased to ensure price stability and the continued availability of goods across markets and retail outlets.

It added that field visits to markets, storage facilities, and warehouses have been scheduled to verify stock readiness and availability, alongside direct coordination with local manufacturers of essential food products to increase production capacity and preserve national food security in response to any developments.

The ministry emphasised that there is no need for panic buying or stockpiling, confirming that supply chains are operating normally and that the concerned authorities continue to monitor the situation in coordination with public and private sector partners to safeguard consumers and maintain market stability.
