Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava hailed His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s keynote speech, which reflected Bahrain’s vision to build bridges between religions and promote the message of tolerance and peace.
The Indian diplomat said that the reception hosted by HM the King in honour of His Holiness Pope Francis as an historic moment, describing the Pontiff’s visits as reflecting the importance of peace in the world.
He pointed out that the Indian community Bahrain bears witness to the extent of interfaith coexistence and harmony between religions, noting the presence of a 200-year-old temple in the Kingdom, which is evidence of the country’s long-standing embrace of different religions.
