Manama: Saraya Real Estate Company has formally delivered the first batch of housing units under the "Al Wadi" project in the Buhair area of the Southern Governorate to beneficiaries. The delivery ceremony was attended by Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning; Saud Kanoo, Chairman of Saraya Real Estate Company and Smart Skyline; Ahmed Abdulaziz Al Khayat, Chief Executive of the Urban Planning and Development Authority; Fatima Ibrahim Al Mannai, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning; Abdullah Talib, Director General of the Housing Bank; along with a number of officials from the ministry and the company.
According to Bahrain News Agency, during the ceremony, units from the first phase of the project were presented to beneficiaries following the completion of all construction and infrastructure works in line with approved technical and engineering standards. The remaining units will be delivered progressively in accordance with the approved schedule, ensuring the timely relocation of beneficiary families to their new homes.
The Al Wadi project is one of the housing developments implemented through a partnership between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and Saraya Real Estate under the Government Land Development Programme. The programme is among the Kingdom's key housing initiatives, aimed at strengthening public-private partnerships to deliver innovative and sustainable housing solutions, enhance the efficiency of government land development, and support comprehensive urban development pathways in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Minister explained that the Al Wadi project represents a qualitative addition to the portfolio of housing developments implemented in partnership with the private sector. She noted that the Government Land Development Rights Programme has contributed to accelerating the implementation of housing projects and providing diverse housing options that meet citizens' needs, while also supporting growth in the real estate sector and enhancing its contribution to the national economy.
She commended Saraya Real Estate Company for its commitment to delivering the project in accordance with the approved schedule and technical specifications, reflecting the success of the strategic partnership model between government entities and real estate developers. The Minister affirmed the Ministry's continued efforts to roll out further housing projects and initiatives aimed at accelerating the fulfilment of housing requests and achieving sustainability in urban development.
For his part, Abdullah Talib, Director General of the Housing Bank, affirmed the Bank's commitment to being an active partner in supporting citizens' home ownership through providing financing programmes and innovative housing solutions, such as the "Tas'heel" and "Tas'heel+" programmes, in addition to advanced digital services that help streamline application and reservation procedures and accelerate access to housing services.
