iGA Launches Third Batch of Technical Development Program to Train Bahraini Youth

Manama: The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) recently held an introductory session for 80 young Bahrainis who were newly accepted into the third batch of its Technical Development Program (TTDP). This initiative aims to cultivate technical skills among the youth and prepare them for leadership roles in ICT excellence and innovation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, iGA Chief Executive, along with senior officials and program coordinators, attended the session. Al Qaed congratulated the participants, who were selected from a pool of 269 applicants. The program, launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, aligns with directives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. It also receives support from General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT). This backing underscores the program's importance in developing national talent and advancing Bahrain's digital transformation.

Al Qaed emphasized the strategic significance of the program in refining the skills of Bahraini youth in technical fields. He urged the participants to make the most of the training opportunities provided by the iGA's technical departments and to pursue academic and professional certifications. By doing so, they will be better equipped to tackle emerging technologies and face new challenges confidently, enhancing their prospects in both the public and private sectors.

The program's success is evident from the achievements of its first two batches, with over 143 graduates contributing to more than 10 digital and technical projects at the iGA. These projects include the My Gov app and eKey 2.0. Additionally, the participants have earned 295 internationally recognized professional certifications, and 94 graduates have secured employment in various sectors.

The TTDP offers intensive on-the-job training for 240 Bahraini youths aged 21 to 30, who hold a bachelor's degree and are registered for unemployment benefits. The three-year program includes comprehensive ICT training by the iGA, and upon successful completion, participants receive globally recognized professional certificates from an internationally accredited institute.
