Manama: The Information and eGovernment Authority, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), has introduced the "Request for Birth Certificate for Newborn Outside the Kingdom of Bahrain" eService. This service is available through the national portal bahrain.bh, allowing citizens abroad to electronically request the issuance of birth certificates with ease and convenience.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Mohammed Al Qaed, Chief Executive of iGA, stated that this eService is a result of ongoing collaboration with the MOFA and highlights the Authority's efforts to enhance digital transformation in the Kingdom. This initiative aligns with the government's directives, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to provide high-quality services that improve the user experience.
Al Qaed further explained iGA's dedication to continuously enhancing the birth registration system by introducing new and improved eServices that cater to the public's needs. These initiatives support the goals of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology (MCICT), chaired by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Committee. He emphasized the Authority's commitment to using its full resources to deliver innovative services that offer individuals easy access, enabling efficient transaction completion and saving both time and effort.
Dr. Isa Nasser Al Noaimi, Undersecretary for Consular and Administrative Affairs at the MOFA, emphasized that this eService signifies a major shift in government service delivery and showcases the Kingdom's dedication to its citizens abroad. The eService enables Bahraini citizens abroad to complete their transactions through the National Portal bahrain.bh, anytime and from any location, providing a seamless, efficient experience.
Dr. Al Noaimi noted these efforts enhance the quality of life and reinforce Bahrain's position as an advanced country offering its services with professionalism. He added that the MOFA, in collaboration with the Information and eGovernment Authority, remains committed to developing consular services to serve as a global role model, reflecting the Ministry's commitment to providing innovative solutions and reinforcing citizens' trust in government services.
Regarding the eService details, the guardian must first notify the Bahraini embassy or consulate about the birth event outside Bahrain and submit the hospital notification. Subsequently, they can access the eService on bahrain.bh using the advanced eKey account, entering the required details, including the birth notification number and the child's personal ID number.
This eService is part of a suite of birth certificate eServices available online for Bahraini citizens and residents, allowing users to submit applications for issuing birth certificates for newborns, request replacements for lost or damaged certificates, amend existing certificates through court orders, and manage previous requests.
