Riyadh: Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the Information and eGovernment Authority, engaged with Ahmed bin Mohammed Alsuwaiyan, Governor of Saudi Arabia's Digital Government Authority (DGA), during the 13th meeting of the Permanent Committee for Statistical Work in Saudi Arabia.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Qaed emphasized the significance of bolstering Gulf cooperation in digital transformation and developing shared technological infrastructure across the GCC. He acknowledged the advanced levels reached by the region's digital ecosystem and its progress in adopting modern technologies to enhance government services for citizens.
Al Qaed underscored the importance of ongoing coordination, exchanging expertise, and integrating digital initiatives between Gulf states to support future readiness and maintain leadership on regional and international fronts. He praised the collaboration between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in various domains, particularly in ICT, highlighting that these efforts are a fundamental pillar of both nations' national strategies, strengthening their digital transformation and government service capabilities.
He also applauded Saudi Arabia's advancements in digital transformation, adoption of advanced technologies, and AI, noting that the Kingdom's hosting of specialized digital events showcases its capabilities and regional leadership.
The meeting explored potential collaborations, focusing on digital identity and system development, as well as enhancing integration between the government digital platforms of both countries. Discussions included aligning regulatory frameworks and fostering joint coordination to support digital government services, innovation, and AI adoption in the public sector.
Additionally, Al Qaed toured DGA's Innovation Hub, where he was briefed on specialized labs and platforms designed to help government entities create and implement smart digital solutions, adopt emerging technologies, and apply AI effectively.
