Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. During the session, significant regional and international issues were discussed, emphasizing Bahrain's stance on various matters.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet extended condolences to HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Amir of Qatar, for the passing of HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. The Cabinet recognized his contributions to his people and the broader Arab and Islamic nations. Additionally, the Cabinet condemned the continued hostile aggression from Iran targeting the Kingdom's territory and the wider GCC states, including the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The Cabinet stressed that these Iranian aggressions violate Bahrain's sovereignty and international law, notably UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), and breach Iran's commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. The Kingdom reaffirmed its right to defend its sovereignty and highlighted the importance of international community support to curb such violations.
Moreover, the Cabinet expressed appreciation for the Bahrain Defence Force, the National Guard, and other authorities for their readiness in defending the Kingdom. It also congratulated the United Arab Emirates on Union Pledge Day, recognizing their achievements across various sectors.
The Cabinet condemned terrorist plots against Morocco, applauding the efficiency of Moroccan security services. It welcomed the US President's decision to remove Syria from the list of state sponsors of terrorism and condemned recent terrorist bombings in Damascus.
Several memorandums were reviewed and approved, including new commercial activities, financial appropriations, and draft agreements for legal and judicial cooperation among GCC states. Reports on educational quality and national examination results were also discussed, along with the Government's responses to legislative proposals.
Labor market indicators showed progress in employment and training targets for Bahrainis, with significant strides toward the National Labour Market Plan's goals. The Cabinet also reviewed participation outcomes in regional and international meetings related to strategic sectors, petroleum cooperation, AI governance, and GCC water interconnection projects.
