HRH the Crown Prince Chairs Bahrain EDB Board Meeting to Discuss Investment Strategies

Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB), led a Board of Directors meeting in Bahrain Bay. HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad emphasized the Kingdom's achievements in securing investment opportunities, which reflect the efforts of Team Bahrain in strengthening the Kingdom's investment goals and comprehensive development, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

According to Bahrain News Agency, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad discussed how attracting investment opportunities aids in creating quality opportunities for citizens and boosts the national economy's growth. This approach is key to driving economic diversification and achieving the Kingdom's extensive development objectives.

The meeting involved a review of the Bahrain EDB's progress and an assessment of global market conditions. Discussions were focused on global economic trends and strategies to attract investment in priority sectors, which are integral to supporting economic growth and diversification.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad also acknowledged the importance of official visits in drawing investments, forming agreements, and signing memoranda of understanding to facilitate significant economic opportunities. He emphasized the need to follow up on these visits to enhance their benefits and strengthen Bahrain's strategic economic and investment stance.

During the session, HE Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Bahrain EDB, presented the Board's achievements in 2025. In the first nine months, the Bahrain EDB secured USD 1.52 billion in direct investments from 75 local and international projects, with 43% as new capital investments and 57% as expansions of existing ones.

The tourism sector received the largest portion of diversified direct investments, followed by financial services, manufacturing, and ICT. These investments are anticipated to create over 4,300 jobs within three years.

The Board also explored emerging sectors with significant economic growth potential and market resilience. Updates on the Golden License initiative were presented, highlighting strategic projects that promise long-term value and are expected to enhance economic activity and prosperity.

Attendees of the meeting included HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HE Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and several senior officials and members of the Bahrain EDB Board of Directors.
